Technology Overview
Nano diamonds are created from the controlled detenation of plastic explosives. These raw nano diamonds are generated in extremely high temperature and pressure enviornments. Our partner company Carboeon ltd oy has an extensive patent portfolio that allows them to remove impurities in these raw nano diamonds. This means that each individual nano diamond is far more reactive, allowing it to achieve a better bond to the surface it is being applied to. This results in coatings that require up to 100x less nano diamonds to be effective at preventing wear. Utilising AZD technologies unique application process we able to offer a custom tailored coating solution specifically for the conditions encountered in the Gulf.
Where is it applied?
Our nano diamond coatings are applied to nearly any metal components that suffer from wear in extreme envionmental conditions. It can be viewed as a replacement to hard chrome coatings, which are being phased out in many countries due to their extremely toxic nature. The nano diamonds we use are the only ones approved for use by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Due to the highly refined nature of these nano diamonds we are able to use less of them, this decreases the cost, and allows for a viable solution for a much wider group of metal components.
